How to Help Kids Protect the EnvironmentRaising children that are environmentally conscious rests on two basic ideas. First is education. Teaching kids about the environment, the importance of ecosystems, and how their own actions make an impact lays a foundation and a reason for them to live responsibly. We can tell them to recycle their bottles but when we accompany it with an explanation; they can extend that reasoning and become more creative by conserving or recycling other materials. The second main idea is to become an effective role model. Practicing green living for ourselves will inspire and influence children even before birth. Kids learn through imitation and they also become suspicious of those who do not practice what they preach. Therefore, by taking simple steps such as using biodegradable diapers and eating healthy to name a few, we as parents can tweak our lifestyles to become greener and at the same time help kids learn to protect the planet.
